A lot of people love the old standards, whether it be meat and 3 veg, Friday night footy or the standard glass of O.J! (we’ve even abbreviated it, so that it maintains some relevance to the younger generation). Many people just stick with their apple or pineapple, depending on their sweetness tolerance. Some have even gone to grape, mango, or my favourite ‘straight’ juice, lychee. On the whole though I have rigorously explored the world of juice, and over the years given a plethora of combinations a chance to prove themselves; the opportunity to escape the supermarket shelf and come back to my place. Without getting too detailed, here is what I’ve discovered. Sometimes ‘Golden Pash’ can be just a dash intense on the back palate, but ‘Pine Orange’ seems to be just the right blend. ‘Tropical’ can go either way, depending on brand, though ‘Multi V’ is like a really good mix tape – timeless. Be ready to come out swinging if you’ve swigged blackcurrant and cranberry crusaders won’t go past their spray fresh, but just be ready for that right, left combination. Stay clear of guava juice and any juice with banana in it will try to make its way out as soon as it goes in. One thing is certain though, vegetable juices are DISGUSTING, there, I said it, I’m sorry they just are; you cannot convince me otherwise. So as a final summation, fruit has every right to be juiced, but vegetables should only be served with my steak, while I’m watching Friday night footy…
